Comments from our clients
We all really enjoyed our holiday at Tigmi. James and Jean-Paul were very hospitable and organized everything for us brilliantly. Rating 5/5. It was very atmospheric at night. It also had great views. A great escape from the rest of the world. The food was good even for fussy children and I loved the no choice - much more relaxing! Mrs W. in April 2010
Wonderful and much needed peace from the madness that is Marrakesh. Lovely, friendly and unobtrusive service in a stunning setting that blends in and supports the Berber village that it is so well integrated with. K.P. in February 2010
Friendly and helpful staff but best of all it was wonderful to be left alone. The most restful holiday I ever remember having! Booking restaurants in Marrakech in advance it was impossible to get a booking on any of the nights we were there in the restaurants recommended (though the food at Tigmi was marvellous!) We had a fabulous time and would definitely return to Morocco and to Tigmi! L.S. in January 2010
This hotel was so peaceful and a wonderful place to relax. There is an old part and a new part. We stayed in the new part which was lovely but next time we would like to stay in the old part which has more character. The food was fine. We borrowed the hotel bycs and went cycling down a track. Great fun. Rating 4 out of 5. J.N. in November 2009
I loved it. Against the 'spec' I gave you, Tigmi was perfect (would've been so disappointed to be in the thick of things in Marrakech city!). As it was, I spent a lot of time on the tower at Tigmi, looking at the view, which changes moment by moment as the sun alters the shadows on the mountains - The sunsets were amazing. I'm still there in my head! L.L. in November 2009
A beautifully constructed and decorated hotel and we could see why it was included in your hotel list but in truth somewhat disappointing. We had been so welcomed by all the local Moroccans who served us, helped us, bartered and chatted to us during our journey that we missed their engaging charm here. If we had come here first we would have been none the wiser but as our last stop we found the staff distant and silent - just not what we had become used too after our total immersion into Moroccan culture. The food was also disappointing. Please don't take these comments too negatively - we had the most fabulous holiday (as i hope you can read) and Tigmi seemed out of character (it just didn't sparkle as the other places did with their engaging local staff and genuine local fare) S.W. in October 2009
amazing , fantastic everyone was just brilliant so so helpful nothing was to much trouble! Beautiful setting so relaxing rooms gorgeous chic but nayturally done! Only comment the lunch buffet was not varied enough..that is all I have to say in a negative way but it was so minor hardly worth mentioning! P.M. in October 2009
Very few other guests but a lovely place. The riding was an hour's drive away and seemed rather expensive so other than another trip to Marrakech and local walks we stayed put. The lunch menu wasn't terribly exciting but we liked the whole place and the pool is very nice. C.J. in July 2009
Beautiful but unusual retreat. Make sure you explore it all especially the roof terraces! Views and sunsets from main terrace were unforgetable. A real gem. R.E. in July 2009
Tigmi had a rustic but comfortable feel, it felt that we were stepping back in time and we were surprised to know that some of the hotel had been built in 2008 - thankfully, this has been renovated tastefully so it blends in exactly with the original buildings. We loved all of the various courtyards, terraces with 360 degree magical views over the Atlas foothills and high Atlas mountains. We enjoyed the relaxing feel especially after a few hours in the hustle and bustle environment called Marrakech. The staff were very attentive - their English was very limited but most spoke good French so dust off your school boy/girl French before departure. ... Tigmi serves delicious fresh food but something to bear in mind is that here is no choice of evening meal - only one starter, H.P. in March 2009
One can only feel affection for Tigmi itself. It is full of delightful architectural nooks and crannies. Its florid courtyards offer peaceful shady retreats and the views from its terraces keep you gazing out across the hills and villages, listening for distant sounds like the shout of a shepherd or a grumbling donkey. The staff at Tigmi, smilingly unhurried but thoroughly obliging add to the general sense of /douceur/ which pervades the place. We also found the food simple but excellent. E.WW. in October 2008
I would just like to say what a wonderfull amazing time i had a Tigmi ,truly outstanding .I had the whole resort to myself the entire stay .The actual location and resort were beyond my expectations .I have nothing but 100% positive things to say .Thankyou for recommending Tigmi, im all set for my next visit as soon as time will allow . D.B. in July 2008
Absolute heaven! Beautiful place - wonderfully quiet and peaceful, great food, lovely friendly staff and very helpful Manager. The only problem was leaving. We will definitely return - a perfect place for total R&R. S.P. in june 2008
I just wanted to let you know what a truly wonderful holiday we had at Tigmi. It was a magical place where [we] felt incredibly relaxed and at peace. The service was out of this world, they are so humble and kind it makes you feel you want to sit them down and look after them for a day. C.M in December 2007
What a wonderful setting! Here we truly felt relaxed. Surrounded by the Atlas mountains we passed our days watching the birds fly by, or lounging in the many nooks scattered about. It was lovely to see the shepherds go about tending to their flock or while away the hours in contemplation. To further enhance this relaxing experience, I tried the massage and facial which were both fantastic. The service was exceptional and the food was a delight. M.I in October 2007
A really lovely and tranquil hotel in a most interesting setting. This was a true insight to rural life in Morrocco. The staff at Tigmi were delightful and at times it felt like a house party as opposed to the formality of a hotel. I can thoroughly recommend Tigmi if you want to experience something other than the souk! Do take a torch as the electricity can be erratic of an evening! Y.B. in October 2007
We at a great time in tigmi. The place is just perfect, the food exellent and the service also. M.W. in April 2007
Very relaxing. Good food and friendly service. K.B. in April 2007
