Sahara Sky in Zagora

The Hotel Kasbah SaharaSky was built by the owner using traditional techniques in 4ha of land at the foot of the Sahara desert. It takes full advantage of the location away from the pollution of city lights with a private observatory equipped with a variety of GPS amateur telescopes.
The SaharaSky astronomical observatory equipments includes Schmidt-Cassegrain and Ritchey Chretien telescopes with up to 16 inches (400mm) aperture. The 150mm and 200mm Meade GPS telescopes are available for all guests to use after dinner, subject to favourable weather conditions. Use of the 350mm/400mm telescopes is chargeable.
As well as the star-gazing you can take advantage of camel treks and land-rover tours into the dunes operated by the hotel.
There are 13 standard rooms with private bath and w/c, and a large terrace looking over the desert. The three larger mini-suites also have a small Moroccan lounge and satellite TV or sound system. All the rooms have air-conditioning.
The kasbah is staffed by the local Berbers and the restaurant serves traditional Berber cuisine.
