Riad Les Yeux Bleues in Marrakech - Clients

Very good. Brilliant, whitewashed surroundings. Nice pool area but all just a little sterile after the mystic Dar Anebar. Had we come here first we'd have thought it wonderful I'm sure. Still a fine place to stay. Two issues: the toilet in our room was simply part of the bedroom: no dividing door or even curtain (the loo itself was tucked behind a corner). That might surprise some. Also, the alleys down which it is situated were often malodorous: again, not a problem until it gets dark and then you do wonder what it is you are trying to avoid stepping in. C.E. in April 2010
very good. A lovely quiet oasis in the Medina. A great place to relax when one has had enough of the Souks! The staff were so helpful. Two days in Marrakech were quite enough. There is so much more to see and enjoy in Morocco apart from Marrakech. Rating 4/5. C.A. in March 2010
Les Yeux Bleus was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. Do not be put off by the approach to the Riad as its location is perfect for entry into the Medina. The accommodation and service was superb and the staff could not do enough to in terms of service. The food was first class and I would recommend the accommodation without hesitation. B.H. in March 2010
This was our first visit to Morocco. It is difficult to avoid cliches but this delightful small Riad really was a haven of luxury and tranquility, yet located only 10 minutes on foot from the Grand' Place of Jemaa-el-Fna. We we were made to feel very welcome by the excellent staff who provided first-class yet discreet service throughout our stay. The cuisine was delicious, so much so that guests should ensure that they eat at least one dinner within the Riad. We ate two dinners there; each was superb. K.C. in March 2010
Brik was a very good host, their breakfasts were the best the only thing which was abit disappointing was our room:- there wasnot a door or curtain to the adjoining bathroom and the room was opposite the internal breakfast area for colder days which was a bit disconcerting. J.N. in March 2010
Superb. If we go back to Marrakesh we will certainly stay here. They provided a very good meal on our second night, sitting beside a warm fire as it had been raining hard. Rating 5/5 A.N in March 2010
A beautiful Riad with fantastic helpful and friendly staff. Down a very dark alley which was difficult to navigate late at night but the local children helped (for money of course !). Loved La Maison Arabe just around the corner. The cookery workshop, restaurant and piano bar were all brilliant as were the staff. C.G. in February 2010
Perhaps Dar Anebar set the bar too high--while Les Yeux Bleus was very pretty and well-situated, it did not match Dar Anebar's atmosphere of welcome and warmth. The rooms are also much smaller, though, very charming, and the bathrooms have no doors. Its food was good but not as good as in Fes, either. Our rooms the first night were on the noisy ground floor, but we were able to move to the second floor the second night which helped quite a bit. The staff was helpful and perfectly courteous but not nearly as outwardly passionate about their work as at Dar Anebar. Perhaps not having the owner on site here made that degree of reserve come through. B.G. in January 2010
What an exquisitely restored riad, with efficient, friendly staff, and delicious dinners. We found our rooms quite small but very comfortable (a little disconcerting to have a bathroom with no door!). Wonderful terrace for breakfast, enjoying the sunset etc. - the whole experience was greatly enhanced by the presence of Nanou (beautiful ginger cat)! Overall rating 5/5. MvdW in November 2009
Good base for the northern Medina, very pretty poolside or roof terrace for breakfast and dinner. Obliging staff and perhaps a more relaxed feel than some of the bigger, more expensive riads. L.G. in November 2009
It was a beautiful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. A great place to start and relax, particularly after a long journey! Nothing was too much trouble and we would definitely go back. R.M. in November 2009
Wonderful - the atmosphere was so moroccan and the staff could not have been more helpful. A very comfortable and relaxing place to be. A real contrast to the hussle and bussle of the Medina. We were very lucky with the weather and made good use of the pool! Excellent choice for us. The hotel/restaurant next door is to be reccomended for the quality of food. Our meal at the 'Maison de Arabe' was out of this world but a little bit on the expensive side. All the same, very enjoyable. PS. Loved the cat!! D.P. in October 2009
Exquisite riad - a haven of peace and tranquillity. The staff were always on hand to provide whatever we needed (including an escort through the medina when we arrived by car). With only 8 rooms it managed to feel spacious yet intimate and the rooms were charming. Despite expectations, we didn't hear the nearby mosque at all, but we did smile at the door less bathrooms! G.R. in October 2009
Marrakech was too hot for Jonathan. Fortunately, the riad was well aircon and the small pool kept him cool while I bathed myself in the midday sun, mesmerising in Jardin Majorelle. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good. We had our dinner at Le Maison Arabe, next door., 5-star setting, and great continental cuisine after too much Moroccan food. Highly recommended. The next day we spent on Essaouira, a stunning fishing port and village. Highly recommend for a trip. K.L in August 2009
I rarely, if ever, reply to 'surveys', however, Les Yeux Bleus was nothing short of truly outstanding - thanks for the recommendation! Your brochure photos were good but didn't do the Riad justice - the whole place was stunning, the staff couldn't be more helpful and the location perfect - an oasis of calm but close enough to explore anywhere in the old town on foot. P.F. in April 2009
Special mention does need to go to Les Yeux Bleue in Marrakech - I've stayed in a lot of places on holiday & business but I've got to say that this place is possibly the best I've been to - no wonder people keep coming back. S.P. in March 2009
Les Yeux Bleus is a lovely Riad with very helpful staff and excellent food. We loved Nanous, the ginger Riad cat, who made it feel like home. We recommended this Riad highly for a wonderful holiday. A & M P in January 2009
What a beautiful Riad. We loved the attention to detail in our rooms, the tranquillity and the friendliness of the staff. We won't forget our suppers in front of a roaring fire in one of the cosy salons. L.W. in November 2008
The outstanding stay of our visit. We loved the quality of the place, the attention to detail and all of the little extras like the rose petals etc. The staff were excellent : they were friendly, very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. C.P. in October 2008
Another wonderful Riad, like something out of Somerset Maughan ? I felt very spoilt to be staying here. Breakfast was wonderful and all served with a quiet dignity and effortlessness. J.A. in September 2008
Another really beautiful and unique Riad, with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Good pool and a romantic place to have an evening meal J.C. in September 2008
Excellent hotel, friendly staff, good food. The perfect escape from the bustle of the city. Very convenient for getting to the markets, palaces, museums etc.Would recommend this to others. P.N. in July 2008
Friendly, helpful, excellent food and service - a perfect start to our holiday giving us a good feel for the country and making us feel welcome and at home. Nice atmosphere that allowed us to escape the hustle and bustle outside in Marrakesh. R.C in june 2008
This was the most fantastic experience. My whole group loved this beautiful Riad, a little oasis of tranquility. The service was friendly and first class....nothing was too much trouble making our stay all the more memorable. This Riad is particularly well suited for larger parties who wish to take the whole property as it really is like being in your own home. We had dinner prepared for us one evening by the pool and left it to the kitchen to decide the menu and they prepared a real morrocan feast. Ten out of ten for Les Yeux Bleus D.T. in May 2008
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the service excellent. The place itself was very nice and a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle outside. Our room was also very comfortable and we had the use of the hamman and had a massage whilst there. We would highly recommend Les Yeux Bleus to any of our friends for a long weekend etc. G.P in April 2008
Another incredible hotel. After the chaos of Marrakech it is an oasis of calm. Again the staff couldn't do enough for us and we genuinely didn't want to leave - Go to Les Yeux Bleus .... but beware you might not want to come home! M.J. in April 2008
Our stay at Les Yeux Bleu was absolutely fantastic, the decor was fabulous and the staff so atttentive we all felt very special. L.T. in April 2008
Most comfortable stay and very obliging staff and would recommend it to anybody. Perhaps the only downside was the bed, extremely hard! J.O. in March 2008
As expected, a gem. The managment is willing and kindly, if a bit dozy. No one seems to be in charge when Madame YB is not there. They omitted to tell us about the excellent dinner they serve until we found out from other guests. T.S. in February 2008
The Riad was fully up to expectations - the service was excellent and the food very good. We dined in on most evenings as we were reluctant to face the Medina crowds in the evening, having spent most of the day either touring the sights or on our trips up the Mountains. We usually managed to rest up on the Terrace most afternoons. Lord J. in February 2008
The Riad is absolutely beautiful, with some exquisite furnishings and a high attention to detail....the food and the service was first rate. R.A. in February 2008
Woo wonderful place to stay, service and attention incredibile... R.T. in February 2008
The riad was delightful. The room was lovely and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. We enjoyed the food and the hammam and massage were excellent. H.W. in May 2007
...how thrilled we were with Riad Les Yeux Bleu. It was absolutely beautiful, very calm and the staff could not have been more helpful in every way. B.R. in May 2007
The Riad Les Yeux Bleus in Marrakech was outstanding in every respect. Location was good; the Riad was beautiful, tastefully decorated and peaceful; and the staff could not have done more for us. J. McD. in April 2007
Just to say that we had a wonderful time last week and all the arrangements went like clockwork. I was worried that the photos on your web site might be overselling the Riad, but they aren't - quite the opposite if anything. C.R. in March 2007
Les Yeux Bleus is ideal and charming. We count its breakfast arrangements among the best we have ever enjoyed. D. H. in February 2007
Riad les Yeux Bleus was a wonderful mix of a private house and luxury hotel with every bit of the charm and unique character that I had seen on your web- site but, which was so very far beyond those original expectations.
Brik runs the Riad with a combination of subtle control and relaxed energy - the staff and attention to detail are a credit to his vision of how the Riad might look and work when he first started on the rennovations for Jocelyne some five years ago. D.S.A. in January 2005
My wife and I have just got back from our honeymoon in morocco. We would just like to thank you for arranging the best holiday we have ever had. We stayed at Riad Les Yeux Bleau. The accommodation was second to none, a paradise within the medina. Madam Blue eyes was so hospitable to us as were the rest of her staff. The Riad was just beautiful and we were made to feel like a king and queen. N.RB. in May 2003
