Riad El Zohar in Marrakech
Riad el Zohar is an 18th century courtyard house in the desirable Mouassine district in the heart of the ancient medina. It is located just 5 minutes' walk from the famous Jemna el Fna square and right at the start of the souks approached through the narrow traditional streets just donkey cart wide.
The Riad was expertly restored by a British author and sculptor retaining its original features with a balcony on all four sides looking down on the central courtyard with plunge pool; essential in summer! Dining is in the central courtyard, in one of the two salons or on the excellent roof terrace, which has stunning views over the medina.
All five bedrooms have air conditioning which cools in summer & heats in winter, plus en suite shower rooms.
Free nights, upgrades, hammam & massage and honeymoon special offers.
Meet the locals in the rustic Berber villages of the High Atlas Mountains amidst stunning scenery
Colourful dunes and natural rock landscapes of the Sahara
Feedback and reviews
the trip lived up to all our expectations and was an adventure as well as a holiday. the riad charai was charming and welcoming and there were no problems. we fully explored the medina and took 2 tours. E.B. in November 2008
We loved the riad itself - it was a beautiful building with a wonderful courtyard, very friendly staff and a great (and nice and quiet!) atmosphere. However, we did have concerns about the location - the riad was to the north of the main square and main sweep of riads and we felt as if we were a bit 'out of things' in terms of getting to places etc. We also felt rather vulnerable when we left the riad as we stood out as tourists in an area where there were not many.
