Reviews of Holidays and Hotels in Morocco - Sun Sea Souk
The Telegraph, 21 Sep 2002
In counterpoint to the flurry of riad-style b & b's opening in the city's medina, Tigmi has opened 15 miles from Marrakesh in a part of the Haouz plain otherwise populated with shepherds. Conceived as a retreat-style eight-suite property, guests can book by the room or take over the entire house, complete with staff, large heated swimming pool and a labyrinthine string of courtyards, patios, and roof terraces. The house, converted from a series of low-slung, whitewashed village houses, sits on the brow of a Berber hamlet, backed by the white-capped Atlas mountains. The design is organic, with rough, bold curves, herringbone eucalyptus ceilings and blushes of colour in silk throws, cushions and banquettes. In short, it is a hotel with the chi-chi pool loungers you'd otherwise find at Amanjena, but more laid-back, less done-up, and a much more attractive price.
