Holidays in Ourika Valley
A picturesque drive from Marrakech brings you to this lush river valley, in the foothills of the Atlas mountians, with typical Berber hamlets of baked clay and stones.
There is a weekly Berber souk (Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, of varying sizes), which is interesting for its rural life and trade. The nearby farms grow the grow herbs and flowers for the perfumiers and herbalists who sell their exotic perfumes in the Medina.
The Toubkal National Park begins a little way South of the valley.
