Hotel Kasbah Mohayut in Merzouga - Clients

Feedback from our clients for the main hotel - please see the individual camp pages for feedback on those.

A charming hotel, excellent accommodation, restaurant and staff. Particularly helpful reception staff. Visit to local lake and village (Kem Kem) proved a good way to spend the day before the camel trek. Surprisingly good lunch in simple cafe restaurant in village. Navigation instructions to find the hotel worked perfectly and there was no sign of motorcycle navigation touts. D.P. in March 2010
A beautiful place, so near to the dunes. The shower was slightly cranky (but we got used to that) but the room was comfortable and the food OK. A very warm welcome and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Rating 4/5 A.N in March 2010
We liked but did not love the Kasbah. The staff was friendly, the rooms perfectly fine, the public spaces inviting; the food, however, was not very good at all. The place had the atmosphere of a machine moving people through to the camel trek, to the meals, and out. I would prefer to stay in a smaller place. Rating 3 out of 5. B.G. in January 2010
A wonderful Kasbah. Mohar the owner was very kind and took 4 of us to his relations for lunch and showed us around the village. All free so we made a donation to the hospital which is charity run. The food was good. Rating: 5 out of 5 J.N in November 2009
We were only at this Kasbah during the day as we stayed in Midelt the night before (as I was a bit unwell!). But the owner took us out in his 4x4 instead for a couple of hours which was good. And the staff here were extremely good, we arrived at 11am and they immediately provided a huge breakfast. And then lunch after the drive. We were still able to have a room even though we were not going to be staying in it for the night. S.J. in September 2009
Mohammod, the owner of the Kasbah, invited us to his house and had a meal prepared by his sister. He explained the community, irrigation system and planation to us. He and his staff were very friendly and courteous. Food was again very good, and the serving was just right. K.P. in August 2009
Kasbah Mohayut was a great base from which to explore the dunes. The guys who run the kasbah were so friendly - we really felt like part of the family by the end of our stay - and full of interesting information on the area and its history. We were also treated to an additional trip through the dunes and to more remote villages, which I would highly recommend. R.F. in june 2009
Another highlight of the holiday. Moha, Hassan and their team are so welcoming, and couldn't do enough for us. Really enjoyed the buffet evening meals in the garden which looked so pretty when lit at night, and the terrace which overlooked the sand dunes. Would certainly recommend this little hotel. Stunning sunset view of the famous red dunes from the rooftop. Excellent accommodation and cuisine considering the desert location. M.S. in February 2008
Mohammad and his staff were fantastically welcoming and the whole place is delightful. They put on a incredible feast for New Years Eve which defeated even my ravenous boys and it was amazing to wake up and find oneself on the edge of the dunes. We all loved it. The [Deep desert] camp was really cosy, nestled out of the wind and the food was delicious. We had a roaring fire and were all as warm as toast in our very comfortable beds. It was a huge success. Very good hotel. Extremely friendly staff. Good pool area. Good room. Lovely setting, which can be enjoyed from the outside upstairs terrace. [Deep Desert Camel Trek was] Excellent. Well organised. Worth doing the longer camel trek, and very few other people around. Wonderful experience. Evening food good too! R.C. in October 2007
Moha the owner and all staff very very helpful. Best of all locations. Highly recommended. [The Luxury tent was] Very good. Moha arranged everything to suit just 2 of us. R.F. in April 2007
