Kasbah Derkoua Desert Inn Hotel in Erfoud

The Kasbah Derkoua (also known as the Desert Inn) is a charming, friendly auberge in a wonderful desert setting, located about 10 miles from Merzouga and 15 miles from Erfoud. It has a complement of 19 rooms and bungalows, most with shower. Facilities include a dining room (Moroccan/International food), lounge (with occasional TV) and drinks are served in the garden or at the pool terrace.

Although simple and probably the most isolated hotel in Morocco, it has a distinctive charm and character of its own.

It is an extraordinarily unusual but delightful retreat and over the many years we have used it, the Derkaoua has expanded and developed to include horses, camels, sheep, cows and even a tennis court.

In addition to providing simple niceties in a warm and comfortable atmosphere, there is something very special about this hotel.

The hotel arranges full or half-day four wheel drive excursions of the desert as well as overnight expeditions either on camel or in Land Rovers with accommodation in Berber tents in the dunes of Merzouga.
