Jardins de la Koutoubia Hotel in Marrakech
In terms of location, this Marrakech hotel is hard to beat - being just a few hundred yards from the Koutoubia Mosque and central Jemaa El Fna square. It is also right on the edge of the main bazaars and very convenient for lugging home all the day's unnecessary purchases.

Each of the air-conditioned rooms has a bathroom with hairdryer, satellite TV, mini-bar and phone.
The fine little piano bar has a resident crooner of French chanson. The spa has seven treatment and massage rooms, a spa bath therapy room, 5 hammams, and indoor pool, a fitness centre and a relaxation room serving hot herbal drinks.
The house restaurant "Les Jardins de Bala" serves Indian and Asian cuisine in stylish surroundings with rooftop tables looking over Marrakech. The "Relais de Paris" serves steak or fish grilled over an open fire in the gardens of one of the patios. On the ground floor of another patio the "Koutobia" restaurant serves mediterranean style food. There is also a snack bar located near the pool.

This hotel is in a super position very close to the main square. It also has the advantage of being by the Koutoubia mosque, a useful landmark if we got lost as we could spot the mosque above the buildings and get our bearings. Our room was lovely - well worth paying a bit more to overlook the main pool - and the food in the hotel was excellent too. We would stay here again M.H. in May 2009
