Dar Azawad Kasbah Hotel in M'Hamid - Clients

My favourite hotel mainly because Vincent the owner was so friendly and cared so much that we enjoyed his place also the staff were very funny and friendly. The only place we could use the pool. The camel trip was good again with very attentive staff. J.N. in March 2010
A lovely hotel with excellent food. We loved the swimming pool (in spite of the sand storm) and the hamman. Extremely comfortable and we would certainly go back if we could. Rating 5/5 A.N in March 2010
great food and service. We had the best dinner of our trip here. The 3 desert camps arranged through the hotel that we visited were are different and worth the stay. As we happened to be the only visitors at each, we had an extra well supported stay and got along very well with the camp staffs. I would recommend at least a basic knowledge of French (or Arabic or Berber) when traveling this far out of the urban centers, we would have had a much less interactive experience without it. We loved chilling our here on the day after our overnight stay in the desert. It is a very relaxing place with cheery staff. Our overnight trip in the desert was excellent and well run and felt very decadent (we were the only occupants of the camp on the night we stayed!). The quality of food they produced there was amazing, and the bedroom accommodation was perfect. We particularly love the photos of us looking like intrepid explorers at the Ch'gaga dunes.... Take your swimming stuff when you are going for your Camel treck. The hotel is very friendly and they invite you for a dip after the long driving and before you go into the dessert. more importantly a shower and coffee when you return - serve the best coffee south of the Atlas. Once again the local hotel staff looking after us at the tented camp were amazing. So engaging, polite and attentive. The effort that went into making it OUR camp was truly fantastic. After an evening of meals under the tammaris trees and stories under the stars, Florence burst into tears the next morning because she didn't want to leave the desert - magical and personal (and a little saddle soar). This is a beautiful hotel and the owner couldn't have been more welcoming. The fact that we had the whole place to ourselves of course made it feel even more special! I would love to return to M'hamid to explore the dunes more fully over 3 to 5 days and would definitely use Dar Azwad as my base. R.F. in june 2009
